Both offer a way to save fuel, but differently. The Carnival’s hybrid returns about 33 mpg combined with no plug required. The Pacifica’s plug-in hybrid can travel about 32 miles on electricity alone and is rated up to 84 MPGe, which can mean gas-free commuting if you charge at home. Pick the Carnival for simplicity, the Pacifica if you want plug-in electric range.
The Pacifica offers available all-wheel drive on gas models and its signature Stow ‘n Go seats that fold flat into the floor. The Carnival is front-wheel drive only but counters with available VIP Lounge second-row seats on its top trim.
